Requirements & replenishment

Stay ahead of stock-outs

Notung suggests purchase orders by bringing together what they depend on: current stock, lead time, the quality and yields of the supplier’s past deliveries, average price, safety stock, production in progress, open orders and the sales forecast. Your team approves them, or adjusts them using what they know of the customer context and within their authority.

In Notung’s stock screen, the stock’s value at cost price fills in stage by stage, and the items in stock arrive with their coverage. Three are flagged: hardwax oil below its minimum, an oak bench with no sale for 120 days, and beech boards about to run short, for which replenishment proposes an order. Purchasing opens the proposal and validates it.

Sourcing & supplier management

Measure each supplier’s performance on the facts

Each supplier shows what you bought from them, their on-time in-full rate, their price trend and the quality of what they deliver, lot by lot. An agent points out the suppliers to watch, such as repeated late deliveries or a price rise on the last invoice.

In Notung’s suppliers screen, a year’s purchases fill in by category, and the main suppliers arrive with their on-time rate, price trend and quality. The sourcing agent flags three to watch: falling yields from the Trois Combes forest group, three late deliveries from Scierie Belleroche, and a 9% price rise from Huiles & Cires de l’Est. The buyer opens the quotes received for beech boards, which the agent has compared with each sawmill’s record and the company’s purchasing rules, and chooses Scierie Valcombe.

Bid simulator

Protect your margins from the moment you decide to buy

From your target production yields and your sales forecasts, work out the highest price you can pay and still protect your margins. An agent helps you weigh that price against the performance of the suppliers you are considering and the best windows to buy.

In Notung’s bid simulator, lot 34 of a forest auction, 140 m³ of oak from the Trois Combes forest group, arrives with the assumptions behind a bid: the value of sawn oak, the target margin, sawing and haulage, and the by-products sold. Four expected yields follow, each with the highest bid it allows at that margin, from €258 to €301 per m³; the grade B standard is flagged as above what the group’s lots have yielded. The buyer opens the bid worked out from the last four lots and sets €278 per m³ as the ceiling for the lot.
